Orphans

Children are the most vulnerable members of any society. Where there is extreme hardship, they often pay the highest price.

Children are born everyday as a result of the sex trafficking of North Korean women into CHINA. These little boys and girls are unwanted by their Chinese fathers and unwelcome in North Korea since they are not considered North Korean citizens. These children are left alone to fend for themselves against the harsh winters of northern China. They often live on the streets begging for food and sleeping in cold, abandoned buildings.

Inside NORTH KOREA, famine and starvation is pervasive. North Korean parents are sometimes forced to starve themselves so their children can eat. 

War and armed conflict are also leaving children orphaned. In BURMA (Myanmar), many parents have sacrificed themselves in an effort to keep their kids alive. Burmese parents will die fighting off attacks from the army to give their children time to flee.
